Introduction to Routing

Start from Ngong Ping Piazza and proceed in the direction of Shek Pik Reservoir. On the way you will see the Tian Tan Buddha, the largest outdoor seated bronze Buddha statue in the world, atop the peak of Muk Yue Shan on Lantau Island at 482 meters above sea level. Upon arrival at the arch entrance of Dong Shan Fa Mun, follow the Nei Lak Shan Country Trail, which overlooks the vast and tranquil landscape of Ngong Ping plateau and the magnificent Hong Kong International Airport. Then return to Dong Shan Fa Mun and proceed along the Shek Pik Country Trail to visit the Wisdom Path. Funded by the Hong Kong SAR Government, a series of wooden steles based on the calligraphy of the “Heart Sutra” by famous contemporary scholar Professor Jao Tsung-I, were erected to form the unprecedented Wisdom Path. After that, walk along the winding country trail down to the Dam of Shek Pik Reservoir, and finish the journey at the Shek Pik Shaft Tower end point.

Transportation: From the Bus Terminus next to MTR Tung Chung Station Exit B, take Lantau Island Bus Route No. 23, or take the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car directly to Ngong Ping Village.
