Introduction to Routing

Start from Pak Kung Au between Lantau Peak and Sunset Peak to enter the second section of the Phoenix Trail. Sunset Peak is the third highest mountain in Hong Kong. Along the trail you will come upon Yi Tong Shan, where you can enjoy the panoramic view of verdant slopes in the surrounding and the Lantau Mountain Camp, which was built in 1920 as holiday accommodation for early British missionaries. Continue on the first section of Phoenix on a flight of stone steps towards the Old Village Path between Nam Shan and Mui Wo. You will then see the sturdy granite Luk Tei Tong Watch Tower that was built in 1942 by the Tsang Family. After that, you will arrive at Mui Wo Ferry Pier to end the journey.

Note: The Ridge in the first half of the journey is unshaded.
